Editorial policy
What you can expect from every page on Lavin Food, and what we promise not to do.
Last reviewed: October 30, 2026
Original writing
Every recipe and article is written from scratch by Lavin Food Editorial. We do not copy text, photos or ingredient lists from other sites or books. When a dish is traditional, we describe the method in our own words.
Who is credited
Posts are credited to Lavin Food Editorial. We do not create fictional authors, chefs, experts or readers. We do not publish testimonials.
What we do not claim
- We do not write "I tested this" or share personal stories that did not happen.
- We do not publish calorie counts or nutrition values.
- We do not make health or medical claims about any food.
- We do not rate recipes with stars and we do not host comments.
Accuracy
Before a recipe goes live, we check it for internal consistency: quantities and timings must match the method, and cup and metric amounts must agree. Cooking times are always approximate, so we give visual and sensory cues alongside them. Our methodology page explains the details.
Sources
When a post states where a dish comes from or how it developed, we cite the sources we used at the end of the post. If we are not sure of a dish's origin, we say so instead of guessing.
Images
We use images that are our own, in the public domain, or licensed for reuse, and we credit them next to the image or on the page. Photos may show a version of the dish that differs from the recipe.
Advertising and independence
If advertising or affiliate links are ever added, they will be clearly labeled and will not change what we write. We will update this page and our privacy policy before that happens.
Corrections
Mistakes happen. Our corrections page explains how to report one and how we record changes.
