Kitchen tools
A recipe is only half of cooking. These tools help with the other half: deciding what to make, shopping for it and getting it on the table.

How they work
Every tool runs inside your browser and uses the recipes on this site. Nothing you pick is sent to us. The shopping list and your saved recipes are remembered on your device only, as explained in our privacy policy.
Cook mode
Open any recipe and press "Cook mode". The page switches to large text and shows one step at a time. Use the arrow keys or the big buttons to move on. When a step contains a cooking time, such as "5 to 8 minutes", a timer button appears. It runs for the longer time and plays a short sound when it ends. Several timers can run at once. Where your browser allows it, the screen stays on while cook mode is open. The ingredient list follows the servings you chose on the recipe page.
A note on accuracy
The tools follow what is written in each recipe. Times are ranges and ovens differ, so use the doneness cues in the steps and a food thermometer for meat, poultry and fish.
